Unity has officially canceled its controversial Runtime Fee, which had sparked widespread backlash from developers.
After consulting with its community, Unity reversed the decision, focusing instead on maintaining the Unity Personal plan as free, while increasing the revenue threshold from $100,000 to $200,000.
After deep consultation with our community, customers, and partners, we’ve made the decision to cancel the Runtime Fee for our games customers, effective immediately.

Unity Pro and Enterprise plans will see subscription fee increases to cover the cost of the changes. This move aims to restore trust among developers and refocus Unity on its core values.
