OpenAl has recently announced the release of their new model series called OpenAl ol, designed to handle complex reasoning tasks. Unlike previous models, ol models are trained to “think” more thoroughly before responding, making them highly capable in areas like science, coding, and advanced problem-solving. This update is expected to be particularly useful for developers, researchers, and professionals dealing with intricate workflows, such as quantum physics or healthcare data analysis.
Alongside the main ol-preview model, OpenAl also introduced a more cost-efficient option called o1-mini, which is 80% cheaper and optimized for generating and debugging code. Both models are available to ChatGPT Plus and Team users, with future access planned for free-tier users as well.
